What is happening in Spain?

Figures as about 200,000 dogs and cats abandoned every year or 60,000 animals used and abused in popular festivals each year are just a sample of what happens in Spain concerning the welfare and animal protection. Although abandoning an animal is punishable by law and punishable by fines of up to 20,000 euros, entire litters are still found on the doors of the shelters, animals in the streets, highways, landfills ..

And authorities are doing about it? Nothing. Become animal abusers have in a few days, pups continue abusing those for life, thousands of individuals engaged in animal husbandry without any control, the streets are filled with abandoned animals and animal shelters are collapsed from animals that die of sadness.

The Animal Protection who are dedicated to rescue them from dangerous situations, giving them shelter, food and water, sterilize them, cure them, and find someone to adopt them, do not receive any state aid. In contrast, municipal dog pounds where animals are killed very cruelly, receive support.

Even if they stop subsidizing the "torture of bulls"in this, our country, with 564 million euros a year, I am convinced that, among other things, all stray animals could be sterilized.

These are some of the proposals being sent to political parties for elections 2008-2012 that were to become effective, would make Spain a more developed country. Because right now, we live in involution.
